Interested in taking a behind the scenes tour of some of our favorite bike and ski partners in Bend? Pine Mountain Sports would like to invite you to be our guest at our next Pine Mountain Sports Field Trip!
Join us on Wed Apr 27 for an hour-long tour of Robert Axle Project and Old Man Mountain
Robert Axle Project started in 2013 as a personal project of Chris & Katy when they realized their new carbon mountain bikes had thru axles and they could not attach BOB Trailers to the bikes. Over time, Robert Axle Project, became the thru axle authority in the bike industry. They now produce a variety of thru-axles including Kid Trailer Axles, Trainer Axles, Lightweight Bolt-On Axles and other axle accessories. Robert Axle Project has partnered with Chris King as well as other revered brands, and in 2019 their thru axles were used in the Tour de France.
Their sister company, Old Man Mountain, makes the strongest racks that fit your bike right. Old Man Mountain started in 1996 in California, and is now a Bend based company. Their racks have literally been around the world, from Alaska to Antarctica, and they are excited to share some new products launching this year.
We’ll get a tour of their offices, assembly rooms, shipping department and testing bench – and Katy will answer our thru axle questions, share her local taco recommendations, and stories about her life in the bicycle business.
We’ll meet in the parking lot at Robert Axle Project. Please note their new address, below. Look for us at the PineMobile and bring an empty cup for a hot chocolate to enjoy during our Field Trip. Prizes will be given to anyone who rides a bike that morning!
RSVP REQUIRED: This PINE Field Trip is limited to just 10 people so you must call us or come by to put your name on the list and reserve your spot at 541-385-8080.
