Community Ambassadors

Our 2018 Community Ambassador Program

Pine Mountain Sports is excited to announce Family Access Network as the beneficiary of our 2018 Community Ambassador Program!

At Pine Mountain Sports we recognize that our community is growing. As our population increases, the needs and demands on our social services here in Central Oregon are also increasing. We believe that it’s our responsibility to embrace and support those who are working their asses off to serve our neighbors and kids with real needs – and we are asking for your help. Our team of Community Ambassadors pledge a donation of $500, which they directly donate to the year’s designated non-profit.

Family Access Network improves lives by ensuring that children have access to basic need services. FAN is unique to Central Oregon, and a dedicated FAN Advocate is located in every public school in Deschutes and Crook County. FAN advocates connect children and parents to essential services such as food, shelter, heating, health care, clothing and more. FAN advocates support our most needy families, removing barriers and paving the way for a child’s success. FAN advocates serve nearly 9,000 children and family members in our community each year.

We are asking you to join us in becoming a Community Ambassador. By pledging $500 directly to Family Access Network, you provide five children FAN services for an entire school year, including: nutritious food, positive youth development activities, shelter, seasonal appropriate clothing, access to health care services, hygiene items and school supplies. And you’d join the ranks of local businesses and concerned citizens who are working to make a big, big difference in 2018…

…and we’ve just begun! This is not just for businesses. We have numerous private families and individuals who have committed to returning as a 2018 Community Ambassador! Let’s add your name here. With your help we can provide stability and a brighter future for our less fortunate neighbors in Central Oregon.

FAN is a resource to Central Oregon children, families, and teachers. A kid that is fed, clothed, and has a reliable place to sleep – is a kid that can learn.

Our Community Ambassador Program History

In 2016, Pine Mountain Sports began building a team of “Community Ambassadors” made up of local businesses and individuals. Community Ambassadors pledge a donation of $500, which they directly donate to the year’s designated non-profit. Pine Mountain Sports and its Community Ambassadors will support a single local charity through PR and fundraising for an entire year. Through this, we can all Resolve To Be Involved, knowing that a small group of concerned citizens can truly make a difference when they take action together.

CASA of Central Oregon speaks up for our local foster children.

In 2016, our first year of the Community Ambassador program raised nearly $23,000 for CASA of Central Oregon. These Court Appointed Special Advocates are working tirelessly to serve and represent the 500+ and growing number of foster children right here in our community. Our 2016 fundraising effort included the very generous taco sale and Parrilla Grill Fundraiser that was held at Tetherow during The Blitz and the showcasing of our Community Ambassador Program efforts during our Powderhound Preview & Fundraiser at the Tower Theatre.

Our staff with Beth Larsen of Volunteers of Medicine. VIM was our Community Ambassador beneficiary in 2017.

In 2017, our growing Community Ambassador program raised $34,311 for Volunteers In Medicine – Clinic of the Cascades! Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) provides healthcare on a donation basis to low-income, working adults who live in Central Oregon and have no medical insurance or means to pay for care. This fundraising effort included our Parrilla Grill Fundraiser during The Blitz, August Pint Nights at Deschutes Brewery, our Deschutes Red Chair Growler Fills for VIM event with Hydo Flask, and the showcasing of our Community Ambassador Program efforts during our Powderhound Preview & Fundraiser at the Tower Theatre!
